I am a 80 year old woman, I purchased my twin bed in Cerritos, the box frame sent with my bed has made the bed so high, I have to use a foot stool to climb into bed, what a dirty trick to play on an OLD WOMAN! When it was delivered, the delivery man threw my mattress cover at me, he seemed angry when he was pulling out the old bed, (God, I wish I had kept my old box springs) I had a $20.00 tip laying there for him, because I was going to ask him to help pull the mattress cover on. They were to take the bed and coverings , a top for the bed, they left that. My 88 year old husband had to get out there and cut that up to put in the trash. I wish I'd read all these before I purchased the bed. The bed sleeps ok - if I don't fall off. LARRY YOUR COMPANY STINKS!

I had no idea anyone would answer about the bed. If I fall off trying to get into the bed, Ill have my attorney right on it. When I was in the store. They had me lay on all the beds to see what fit me for my back problems. Not one of those beds did I have a problem just sitting and laying down on them. I will try to have a carpenter cut the box springs down. I may be 80 years old, but my mind is all together. I believe this is the cheapest trick, I have ever had done to me. I paid $1153.00 Sherwood, Bloosem L. Pict-Elite twin bed. You would think that would give me some service, yes you can use my name or email address. I am going to put this on facebook, so people in this area know.
The salesman, Kevin, was a nice mannered person, my daughter and I had no doubt that all would not go well. I just can not believe they did this to me.

Hi,
Our client, Sit ‘n Sleep, in Los Angeles, expressed a concern about one of your web pages. Sit ‘n Sleep in Los Angeles is the nation’s leading retailer of mattresses.

I wanted to confirm that you are aware of the page on your site that needs to have a clarification that Sit ‘n Sleep Utah is not related to Sit ‘n Sleep Los Angeles.

"I'll tell everyone I know not to shop there! Thanks."

~ Jackie

Sit n Sleep Upland CA ripped us off also, sold us a mattress for $1,500 and after 5 months of use it is uncomfortable and has interan damage to the springs.

I called Sit N Sleep in Upland who sent a person out to look at it and measure it, claims that nothing is wrong with it and told me to live with it, that it is in their guidelines of problems. I plan on filing a claim in court against the Upland sit N Sleep and recommend that nobody should buy a mattress from this company.

Just agreeing with you on your sit 'n sleep story.

I bought a bed from Sit n Sleep in April, 2004. It was delivered without the
free mattress cover and with an extra pillow instead. It wasn't a huge deal,
since we had a spare mattress cover around the house.

Also, they couldn't set a delivery date quite as early as I wanted, as it was
a birthday present, so it was delivered after the birthday.

"They get to keep my money, I don't get to keep the King-sized bed of my dreams, and I get to keep my dissatisfaction."

That wasn't incredibly terrible, so I went back to the same Sit n Sleep store to buy another bed last week. It was supposed to be delivered on Saturday, but they called the day before and said it couldn't be delivered until next week due to the manufacturer being behind. This time, we are scheduling our entire move into a new house around the arrival of this bed. Otherwise, we will be living in a house with no bed.

When we called back, one of the employees told us he couldn't see any
reason they couldn't ship to us, unless they decided to ship our bed to
someone who's P.O. was clearly dated after ours (3 in stock; four P.O.s;
ours was third). After my boyfriend called and complained to the manager,
they agreed to ship it on Sunday. They also offered to pay for a hotel
room (since we had no bed that night) and a free gift. We didn't follow-
through on the hotel room part of the deal, but we did not receive any gift.
On Sunday, the bed arrived. However, it was the wrong size - it was a
California King, while I ordered a King (as I had also ordered a king-size
cathedral bed frame for more than $1000 from a different company). I ran
out to tell the driver it was the wrong size, and he pointed at the invoice
(size 6/7) and said he couldn't take it because it matched the invoice.
Then, I called the store, and they said they couldn't take it because the
drivers had removed it from the plastic. The manager of the Upland, CA
location, Mark Burdman, told me that when a "King" is ordered, a California

King is the standard that they order. He won't take it back, because he
wrote the dimensions on the receipt, though I had no idea that those
dimensions were for a California King and not a King (as I doubt most
consumers would). I told him it was stained (there are small dark and light
blue spots near the foot of the bed, which I would have ignored had it been
the right size), and he said that they could send someone to inspect, but
there would be a 20% restocking fee to exchange for a custom size. Since
when did a King-sized bed become a custom size? He told me that I had to go
through customer service, and after reading all of the complaints on
complaintstation.com, I know that that is a world of hell.

My biggest concerns:

1. The store should have clarified that they send California Kings when you
request Kings.

2. The driver should have taken the bed back.

3. The store should have taken the bed back.

4. New beds should not have small (or any) stains on them.

5. I still haven't talked to customer service, but I am sure that nothing
positive will come out of it. If I'm wrong, I'll provide an update, but I
am not holding any hope.

Unfortunately, the bed frame I ordered has a 15% restocking fee for
undamaged, unopened returns, and they don't make it in a California King.
To make matters worse, they didn't even have the free pillows that are
supposed to come with it, since they were out of stock. In the end, it
appears Sit 'n Sleep wins. They get to keep my money, I don't get to keep
the King-sized bed of my dreams, and I get to keep my dissatisfaction.

Greetings, I was just checking the address for Sit n' Sleep on the internet and found your page, I was going to go buy a mattress there, however, you saved me all the trouble. Consumers do not randomly complain and create web pages for lack of something better to do, we don't have time. But since you took the time to do this, and to date have not been treated properly. I will not buy a thing there to support you. Please recommend another business.

I also have had two major problems with Sit 'n Sleep. The company also goes by the name Sleep Well, Inc. and is based in Los Angeles, I believe Carson or Wilmington area. The owner is Larry Miller.

Is this the same company that everyone is talking about on your website?

If so, please let me know. I think we should all get together and file a complaint against the company. I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau and they have over 70 complaints against them.

We should take action.

YES....You may post my comments on your website without my name... but you MAY include my email if anyone would like to further comment on the store. There may be a class action lawsuit in the makings.

It will not issue a refund either, Wilson said, and you were made aware of this at the time it made an exception and agreed to exchange your original set. You do, however, have a $139.98 credit with the company that you can use to buy anything it manufactures up to that amount."

Regarding Sit n' Sleep in Upland, CA.. Our recommendations to people is "DO NOT SHOP THERE".
We purchased a bed on Mon 11/7/2005, told delivery would be on the 11th. Before we even looked at beds we asked the salesman (Omar Villalobos) to make sure that delivery could be made during our time frame, because we are going to be out of town after the 15th. He checked and said no problem delivery could be done on the 11th, we would get a call the day before confirming a time. We received a call about 5PM last night that they could not deliver today as scheduled. I told them that wasn't acceptable that we had to have the bed delivered because we are leaving town. They finally said that it would be on a truck and we would receive a phone call between 5PM and 9PM giving us a time.

The call never came, I spent half the night on the phone with "Carol' the store manager and "Angie" at customer service... At 8:45PM last night we were told it was on the truck and would be delivered we would have a time at 9AM this morning. I call them at 9:35 this morning and now they say we have to wait until 12:30 or 1:00 to get a time. They say it is on the truck and they will deliver today but they can't give us a time yet and will call us back. So here we are wasting our time again today waiting for another call that probably won't come. Getting this bed delivered today is really not the issue...

The issue: Any company that gives customers the run around like this after an agreement has been made, and the customer has paid a large amount of money for their product, is not worthy of the customers business. We will never deal with them again and won't advise anyone to shop there.

Jennifer

R
ickey Johnson, salesman at the Glendale, CA Sit n’ Sleep store promised me a $50 refund if I bought the bed (09/04/05). I had a gut feeling I didn’t want to deal with this store, but went a head with it.

09/05/05 The bed was delivered.

09/10/05 I called Rickey Johnson. He said I’d get the $50 refund, but it normally takes a while.

09/21/05 I called Rickey again. He said I’d get it.

10/26/05 I called the Glendale store concerning the $50 refund Rickey promised. Steve said Rickey wasn’t in and gave me Corporate 800-961-1997. The bed squeaks! I’m fed up and just want a refund. They said they don’t give refunds, but they’ll send a new mattress & box spring next Wed. Nov. 2 and also give me the $50 refund.

11/04/-05 It turned out to be the frame that squeaks. They wanted to charge me $50 COD, but signed the exchange ticket No COD.

11/06/05 They will call Sat. night to set a time for frame delivery on Sunday. Then I should get the $50 rebate. I don’t know why the rebate is connected to the frame exchange. They are separate issues. The person I spoke to didn’t have an explanation for this.

11/14/05 I called Corporate again and spoke to Alice. She assured me that I would be getting my $50 refund within 7 to 10 business days.

01/05/06 I still have not received the $50 refund. It has been 4 months!

It's not even about the $50 refund, it’s that I feel like a fool for falling for such a gimmick from lying cheats. The new replacement frame is now squeaking like crazy. Every time I sit on the thing my blood boils.

Hi there,

I came upon your website while looking for similar Sit 'n Sleep experiences that I might use in my dispute with the company over my mattress purchase.

We purchased an Eastern King mattress for roughly $1500 in July of 2001. It sat on the frame they delivered until November 2005, when we were finally able to purchase the headboard/footboard we wanted. That's when we realized that they gave us the wrong size mattress set. It did not fit on the expensive new bed we had purchased. I dug out my old paperwork and sure enough, my pink invoice states we ordered an Eastern King, but my white delivery manifest contains the codes "CKM" and "CKB" at the end of the model numbers, which I now realize probably stand for California King mattress and box spring. I called the Laguna Hills store where we purchased the mattress, and was told there was nothing they could do because too much time had lapsed. I asked for the number for corporate and spoke to Shannon there, who said he would speak to the vice president of the company and get back to me. The following day, he left a message on my answering machine saying there was nothing they could do. I know that the general statute of limitations for small claims cases such as these is 4 years, so I'm guessing they figured I have no recourse. But I plan to call again today to see if I can get anywhere, and if not I will be attempting to file a small claims case anyway, hoping the judge will take my set of circumstances into consideration.

(You are welcome to post this on your site, but please keep my email address private.)

Iactually work for Sit n Sleep based in Gardena, Ca. I happened upon your web-

Sleep in Utah that we are not affiliated with, I have also read that there are a
few complaints in regards to stores that are [here].

One complaint in particular was from a person who posted on Jan 5, 2006 in
regards to a defective frame, and the fact that they were still owed a  refund
of $50.00. I would like to look into this customer[ '  ]s account, or speak with
them to find out if this situation has been rectified. I don't want to  appear
that [I] am only choosing to help one customer out of the several complaints that

Thanks for your quick response and for notifying the customer in question.

I have read there are 4 other complaints that are about one of our stores.

The one posted by Jackie who went to our upland store, this appears to be a
warranty issue. We send out an independent inspection company to evaluate beds
that are thought to be defective [...]

The complaint after that which also appears to be from our Upland
store seems to be an issue that they did not get the right size bed that they
wanted […] I don't work in customer service or sales so I'm not sure […]

The other issue from one of our stores was from "Jennifer" which appeared to
be a delivery issue. […] Again nothing I  can really do on that unfortunately.

The last issue which was also posted Jan 5th I believe I heard about from
someone else in our accounting dept. I believe it was an issue where they
delivery team just delivered the wrong size bed in error. It was never brought
to our attention because as the customer states they did not even know until 4
years later when they bought the headboard. But from what I remember, if this
is the same customer that I heard about I believe we rectified this situation
and exchanged his bed for him[…]

 Thank You,

 Rick

In March of 2005 I bought a Muralex box springs and mattress from sit and sleep for $3000.00 as I figured I would not need to purchase another for 20 years. My last mattress lasted for that period of time. After sleeping on it for a few nights my back started to hurt. Mind you I thought this was an outlandish price to pay but my husband said if we spend good money that we will be happy. After I waited the sixty days that you have to give it it just didn't feel any better. So I went in and the salesman at the Glendale store gave me the opportunity to pick a firmer mattress which I did. The new mattress was $800.00 dollars cheaper and I didn't ask for the difference because I was only interested in the way It Feels. He assured me that keeping the same Muralex box springs and only exchanging the mattress would not make a difference so I agreed and took delivery and ate the additional money. Now ten months later I am stuck with a Mattress that droops 3 inches where my husband and I sleep. I don't sleep at night and have back problems and am excruciating pain every day. This mattress has definitely contributed to my back pain. I recently went to Vegas for the weekend and the mattress at the hotel was a dream where do they get their Mattresses from .I always sleep good at a hotel.

One of the sale man at Sit'n Sleep city of Industry just want you to buy it and he doesn't care that we are happy or not. If you don't buy it or you have to think about it he will says something that is not nice to you.

We really want to buy but it turn us off because that guy says something not very nice to us so we walk out and never come back again. If we shop something expensive we have to think about it before buying right. Everybody shop around before deciding to buy something.

So don't come to Sit'n Sleep at City of Industry to shop. They have a very bad customer service. We will go there unless they fire that bad guy.

Hi,
I was reading the comments on your website and I would like to add my own:
Sit n' Sleep in Salt Lake City, Utah and Sit 'n Sleep in Southern California are not related. This website seems to have been set up to inform consumers regarding questionable business practices of Sit n' Sleep in Salt Lake City, UT. It seems appropriate that this website allow clarification of this in order to maintain its credibility.

One comment mentioned that Sit 'n Sleep in Southern Cal has over 70 complaints posted with the Better Business Bureau. Do you realize that Sit 'n Sleep in Southern Cal has been in business well over 50 years and probably delivers 5,000 or more mattresses per month? 70 complaints posted with the BBB would be a statistical "zero" complaints for a company as old and large as Sit 'n Sleep.

As a pastor who is sincerely surrendered to God Almighty, by far the most
challenging circumstance I encounter is dealing with those who have been duped
by "men of the cloth". These men, who portray God to always be on the brink of
bankruptcy, intentionally claim association with God and misrepresent God in
order to promote their own egos. These "men of the cloth" do indeed lie
constantly because they have an agenda, which is to exercise control over the
lives of others.

Please takes a moment to consider this:
History records three and a half years of the life of Jesus. In the account
of His life, He is constantly at odds with the "men of the cloth", ie, the
religious leaders of the day. His disciples were common men, fishermen
mostly, who had no pedigree or religious schooling/training. He hung out with
drinkers and hookers, etc. and received much criticism for it. As history
records, He was executed by the "men of the cloth" for not keeping the status
quo.

God has been totally misrepresented by "men of the cloth". There is no more
effective way to malign someone other than to claim to know, have association
with or to represent them.

And since I have a sensitivity to those who are being harmfully
misrepresented, I am still compelled to dialogue with you, hoping that you
will choose to set the record straight.

Larry Miller is the owner of the Sit 'n Sleep chain in Southern Cal. This
chain only operates stores in Southern California and not in Utah or Texas.
As you and I discussed several weeks ago, the majority of posts to your
webpage refer to Sit 'n Sleep locations in Upland, CA, Gardena, CA, City of
Industry, CA, Glendale, CA, and refer to Larry Miller personally, and Southern
Cal in general. These two companies clearly have no relationship to one
another, other than similarity of name (Sit 'n Sleep versus Sit n' Sleep).
You have good reason to be critical of "men of the cloth" who willfully,
unashamedly misrepresent God to promote their egos and agendas. And if you
willfully choose to continue to unashamedly keep the Sit 'n Sleep Southern Cal
posts on your website, what does that say about your character? Isn't the
purpose of your website to expose the imperfect character of another? Have
you not implied yourself to be above such? This is the character and nature
of man, always pointing the finger while overlooking one's own depravity.
The true God of the bible is the creator of life. Besides the gift of life,
He offers men and women "salvation of their souls". I once thought that I had
no need for my soul to be "saved", that is, until I could no longer lie to
myself. My pride lied to me and I thought I was better than everyone else. I
am no better and no different than those I hate, period. I now understand
that God has not turned a blind eye to all of the injustices of men. No, He
will deal with all of the unjust acts that each of us has done, either in/by
the execution of the innocent Jesus, or at the day of judgment. We get to
choose.

You obviously have an instinctive and passionate desire for justice...awesome!
May I suggest that you ask God to reveal to you what's true and what's
false. I have found, by investigating first hand, that the bible clearly
reveals the character and nature of both man and God.
Take care,

Tim Scorziell

I had a similar experience- they refused to deliver a bed I ordered and failed to show up twice to deliver! They were rude and refused to give me the bed even when it was paid in full.

How can I call the company or is this just a waste of time?

I purchased a $1,500 mattress set from sit n sleep montebello California. I experienced problems after six months and gave the store a call. I was told I had to make an inspection appointment with consolidated business to determine if there in fact was a problem. I scheduled an appointment a representative inspected the mattress a told me that a decision was forthcoming. I was told that it was normal wear and no refund nor exchange would be made. I now know what sit n sleep means when their commercial states your killing me Larry, their product killed me to the tune of $1,500!

According to the phone book, they had the largest ad - so naturally, I go - intending to purchase a futon that day.

"The two employees
at the desk never
took their eyes

off of
a game on the
TV"

I went in, and the store was rather small - no big deal. They appeared to have a decent selection. The two employees at the desk never took their eyes off of a game on the television, and the volume was fairly loud. I was the only customer in the store!

They didn't greet me, didn't ask me if I had any questions, never acknowledged that I was there.

Just for kicks, I stuck around for about 15 minutes to see if either of the two guys would get up and say something. Not a thing....It was a terrible customer service experience and I will never go back.

I purchased a $2000 Nature's Rest solid latex foam mattress from Sit 'N' Sleep in 2001. By 2004 the center had begun to collapse, causing the sleeper(s) to roll to the center. Neither Sit 'N' Sleep nor Nature's Rest successor, Consolidated Bedding, Inc. (who manufactures and distributes Nature's Rest, Spring Air, Chattam & Wells, Four  Seasons, Comfort Flex, Back Supporter, and Infinity mattresses) would honor the warranty. Instead, they added exclusions and limitations that were not part of the original warranty. There was a very faint stain which could not have happened while in my possession, and because of it's faintness, could have been there all along and not noticed at time of delivery. The stain exclusion was not on the original warranty. A "body depression" exclusion of 1-1/2 inches was added. Contracted inspectors refused to properly test the mattress in the center, instead just pressed down around the edges (one actually slugged it with his fist) and said there was nothing wrong. Yet one of them, the VP of the inspection company admitted to me that he did roll to the center when lying on the mattress.

I will NEVER buy another mattress associated with Consolidated Bedding or Sit 'N' Sleep again. I am having to take them to small claims court to enforce the warranty.

Hi
W
ell very glad I found your site as recently we were offered a hand-me-down mattress from a relative, which was in very good shape, but he originally told us it was a queen, which matched our current mattress only not as old. Well after he brought it over and laid it down on the frame only then did we notice that lo it was not a queen but rather a full as it was considerably smaller than the frame…two inches on each side!!  Well we had already removed our previously units and so decided to try the smaller mattress as the old one was totally ready to be replaced, but then after a week of having my feet hang 6 inches over the end of the bed and having to hang on for dear life in the middle of the night we decided we were going to have break down and buy a mattress !!! And as friggin annoying as his commercials are, radio and now TV, we thought perhaps we might be able to acquire a decent new mattress at a reasonable price. Well thanks to your site we are not even going to go look there my wife found a sale on a sealy queen at Big Lots for 299 - so... so long Shit and Sleep and hello Big Lots !!!

My wife and I have bought 5 mattresses from sit N sleep, up until now we were satisfied.  I purchased a spring air, California king, for $2400, it was the foam one, that is suppose to snap back after each usage.  In less than three years, the mattress

"
I couldn't understand why a stain has to be cleaned if the mattress is defective"

-- David

developed lumps all over.  If you tried to lie in the middle, you couldn't.  Someone came over and informed us that "YES" our mattress was defective and we were cleared for a replacement.  But before we could come in and pick a new one, there was a small water type stain on the mattress, someone would come out and professionally clean it for us.  ?  But they came and claimed the stain wouldn't come out.  Spring Air told us we voided the warranty.  They said that the mattress protector company was now liable.  They told us that since the stain was not reported with 14days of it happening, they too would not replace it.  Now here is the kicker, my wife use her carpet cleaning solution she had bought from HOME SHOPPING NETWORK, and the stain came right out.  We called them back and they refuse to send anyone else out to look at the mattress.  I am going to small claims court today.

"I'll be dead if I can't sleep for two months!"

I just got fooled into a $2,000.00 purchase from the Sh*t & Sleep in Torrance, CA.  I went to look at a Tempurpedic, but I guess they don't make much commission off of that.

So I ended up with what I call a very expensive, 'Beauty "no" rest.'
I haven't gotten a good night's sleep on it yet.
I hated it from the first night, and let them know.

The salesman hasn't called, nor answered my Emails.  I can't believe I fell for this!
Their "comfort trial" states you have to keep it for 60 days. I'll be dead if I can't sleep for 2 months!

He also told me it was a $200.00 restocking fee. The fine print states it's 20% or not more than 500 bucks
A pretty hefty fee for making the wrong purchase. (Based on the salesman's advice.)

Spread the word!  Don't buy from these shysters.
You're nuts if you do.

Also, you'll notice they have their own models of mattresses, so they never have to give out free ones.
Nobody else carries the same models from what I have gathered.
Don't fall for their annoying ads and schemes.

I am out $2,000 bucks, and haven't slept since.

If they do help me out, I'll let you know.

I should have looked up a site such as this one before I invested $2,000 in a King mattress that after 5 months, it looks like a sway back horse with a hill in the middle.  I went back to the Upland, CA. store and was told by  a "manager" who would not give me his name, that customer service would set up an inspection.  It has been a week. And I do not expect to receive a call. and if by chance they send some kid out to measure he will tell me what he has told all of you...there is no damage to the mattress.

The mattress is a Spring Air and I swear that it is a second  hand, or they are using the name and the mattresses are refurbished .  I can just imagine what it may look like inside if I were to open it up.  When I went to turn the mattress over, it is a "never turn."  I would have thought this should have appeared on the label.  This manager says he never tells his customers this as they have done away with mattress that you turn over.  How would an average customer know this?  Did I get ripped off? You bet I did!

A camel mattress...
"I should have looked up a site such as this one before I invested $2000"

I am going to small claims.  I will never ever buy anything from them and will shout from the roof tops what lousy customer service and product they are passing to us consumers.  And will report their business practice to the city of Upland, and the BBB..

I would prefer you do not use my name.

I purchased a Sit-N-Sleep Mattress set the Miralux Honor Plush model for about $500. I had it less than 2 weeks and problems with it. They replaced the box-spring, and about a week later it's squeaking as well. I was told that I should have purchased a $1,000 mattress set in order to eliminate the problem. They are delivering me another box spring on Feb. 14-08. Don't these people realize that they are spending more on delivery and swapping out a box spring over and over, and it would be cheaper to refund my money than to keep redelivering a box spring that starts to squeaks again and again.

Maybe if they slept on mattresses from another company they wouldn't be so sleep deprived and would be able to think rationally and do the right thing, refund my money and take the crappy mattress set back.

I have asked for my money back and for them to pick it up and get it out of my home and I'll take my business elsewhere. They refuse to do that. I contacted BBB and filed a complaint through them over the net, and hopefully something will get done that way.

However, the Sit-N-Sleep located at 14300 S. Main St.-Gardena, CA. 90248 may be in for a big surprise when I decide to get a large poster-board and write in big black lettering how they sold me a defective mattress set and refuse to refund me my money and get the piece of garbage out of my home.

Since the public sidewalk is public domain, I have every right to protest against a company that has bad customer service that don't tell you that there is a restocking fee of 20% and you have to upgrade with them on another mattress set.

I just want my money back, for them to get this bed out of my home, and sever ties with them once and for all. So this coming weekend, you all might see me standing out in front of the Sit-N-Sleep mattress store in Gardena protesting against these "CROOKS" that take your money and leave you with a defective mattress set.

Below are the refund policy of Sit-N-sleep, but they don't even follow them either!

"On the way to our home the delivery guy was injured"

I wish I would have found this website before I made a purchase from Sit N Sleep in West Covina. I purchased a $1500 mattress set that was recommnded by the sales guy. I swear to you it was like sleeping in our driveway, The matress had no bounce to it and made my fiancée's bad back even worse.

I called the salesman to let him know we needed to exchange the bed and was told that we would have to sleep on the mattress for 30 days before we could exchange it. I was pissed by felt that the only thing I could do was sleep on out until the 30 days was up. Well two days later I called the sales guy and told him that we could not sleep on it one more night.

I went in the next day to select something that we thought was comfortable and found out that we had to pay a $200 restocking fee. Once again we were pissed. we paid the $200 and had to wait several days for the new mattress to be delivered. On the way to our home the delivery guy was injured and asked could he reschedule to deliver another day. We told him no because we had taken off our work and that today was the only day we were available. He came several hours later and refused to exchange our two week old mattress because he claimed that there were three stains on our new matress that had been covered by a thick mattress pad to soften it up a bit. once again I was pissed! I immediately called customer service and was told by Shannon that the driver did not want to be responsible for taking a damaged mattress and he would schedule an outside company to expect the mattress a few days later.

Now let me include that the stains he was refering to was extra stitching that the manufacturer screwed up on and a dime size water spot on the foot of the bed that could have only happened when the idiots delivered it in the rain. but they tried to convince us that maybe it was coffee that we spilled in bed and or make-up. I asked would this company be biased based upon the other guys review and I was told NO. Well those contracters came out and guess what, I know have three stains on the bed! Once again I was pissed and told them to get the hell out of my house. I am now bunking with my daughter and He's sleepin on an old mattress that belongs to his parents.

Could you believe SNS sold us a returned Tempur-pedic mattress. We did not know this until we removed the outer cover to wash after we moved and saw about a dozen small white stains with a white film around them. EWWWWWW! These were not on the unzipable cover only on the under cover. They claimed the mattress came directly from Tempurpedic but Tempurpedic had no record of the purchase. Tempurpedic, it seems has the largest number of returns in the industry so what does SNS do with the 90 day returned mattress??? They claim they send them back to the factory but that would be really expensive in shipping. They do not return calls and deny everything. I will be taking them to Small Claims Court.
Feel free to forward any similar stories.

OK, the comment before mine said the Sit 'n Sleep in Los Angeles took offense to the Sit 'n Sleep in Utah. I don't know why, they're just as bad! We didn't have any problem with delivery or the look of our mattresses. After buying two mattresses extra thick, we changed our minds and traded them for the regular size. Done without a problem. Everything seemed fine. But after 3 months, by oldest son's mattress had a major indentation in the middle where he normally slept the most. He's barely 100 pounds! We couldn't believe it, and no one wanted to help us get our money back or trade it.

I'll never buy another mattress from Sit 'n Sleep again! Shame on them for
selling used mattresses!

Sears, Wrench Inventor Settle
20-Year-Old Lawsuit

Article from: The Washington Post Article date: September 18, 1989 Author: Pauline Jelinek

A former clerk for Sears, Roebuck & Co. has settled his dispute with the retail company over profits from a popular socket wrench he invented in 1964.

Peter Roberts of Tennessee was 18 years old when he invented a quick-release wrench that eventually sold by the millions.

Roberts, now 44, last week settled an $8.2 million patent infringement case that alleged Sears had
cheated him out of his rightful royalties.

Sears spokeswoman Kathy Gucfa would not give any details of the agreement, saying part of the settlement is that neither side will comment.

Roberts was believed on his way home to the Chattanooga suburb of Red Bank and couldn't be reached for comment. His attorney John ...

I also had a bad experience at the Upland Sit n Sleep. Not until after I signed the paper work and paid for it was I told that the mattress was one-sided. I never heard of this before. Right then and there I was sorry I didn’t go to Sears like a usually do for mattresses and appliances. The free pillows were duds and I had to pay extra for the better stronger frame. I also had to pay extra for the mattress cover.

The delivery day was a nightmare. From the scheduled 9:00 am Saturday time. Many phone calls back and forth all day the delivery was finally 8:00 pm Saturday evening in a junky old truck.

I bought this bed for my adult son and after about two years we noticed something was wrong. The box springs is made of very flimsy balsa wood, cardboard and cheap fabric. It is also empty. It has fallen apart. After hearing all the other horror stories I won’t even make the phone call I would like to make.

I will never got back to Sit n Sleep and will tell anyone that will listen to do the same.

Sears is the place to go.  Dependable safe place to shop for quality merchandise especially mattresses and appliances.

Do not use my name.

Thanks

I bought a 2300 Chattam and Wells mattress from Sit and Sleep with a Mattress pad that would guarantee the mattress from any stains. The mattress has sunken in over the five years and I called for the warranty inspection to have it taken care of. I was told when we bought it that any problems within the ten years that they would replace the mattress. The company sent out some guy who took measurements and said I would be contacted about the warranty. Approximately five days latter I received a letter from Sit and Sleep that due to a Stain on the mattress the warranty is null and void. The mattress pad sold to us was to guarantee the mattress warranty and not allow any stains to the mattress. The stain is the sized of a Quarter on a Cal. King mattress because the mattress paid did not due it job. I am thinking of filing an action against Sit and Sleep and Chattam and Wells but it is hard to get the information on the warranty from the company. Does anyone have any experience with this that can help us? It is obvious that Sit and Sleep did not back up the warranty on the mattress paid that would have not voided the warranty and you would think that a small stain would void the warranty. Anyone out there thinking about buying one of these should take note.

I really Hate Sit and Sleep. I purchased a $1000 Miralux mattress from the store in Norco, CA. Within 8 months the mattress was so bad you could hardly sleep on it. They sent the "technician" out to test the mattress and of course he said the mattress was ok. Now I'm not entirely ignorant and I'm not a mattress inspector, but any person can see with their own eyes the deep impressions in the mattress. We waited another 3 months and made another claim and they allowed us to exchange the mattress. We gave them and Miralux another chance and within 6 months the new Miralux Treasure Firm is in worse shape than the original. This mattress in killing my back yet.

Subject: re: sit n' sleep

We went to Sit n' Sleep in Puente Hills, CA today. The reason we went there is because we bought a Sleep Number bed 2 weeks ago. Although we like the Sleep Number bed so far, we're not sure if that's a good purchase after reading others reviews on it. BTW, I really think air bed is a good idea since it's not like spring mattress will "bent" eventually. However, many people were complaining about the air bump and the maintenance fees, we feel like we should at least compare spring mattresses before we make the decision to keep it or not.

So we went Sit n' Sleep today. The sales guy was nice. Since not many people at the store (probably only me and my husband on Saturday afternoon!!), the sales guy tried his best charm to make the deal. The sleep number bed we bought was $1500 after $500 cash back deal, so we were looking something similar price there. After trying whole bunch of mattresses there, we like Stearns and Foster Queen bed for $3999. The sales person said he made a best deal for us for $3400 tax included.

Well, we really like the mattress, but we're not sure if $3400 sounds a right price since we haven't even done a research online yet so my husband said to me that he wanted to do a research first before we buy another mattress. After all, we're going to pay $200 to Sleep Number if we decide to return it.

They are dishonest people,  period.

The sales guy just won't give up. He tried to "lurk" us putting a deposit to "lock" the best price he offered - $3400. He said it just to "protecting" us because once we step out, he cannot guarantee the price later. And if later we still decide not to buy that mattress, they will return the deposit so it's risk free for us. You see, you lock the best deal price, and if you change your mind later, you will get it back. Man that's a lamest sales trick ever. That trick only triggers our suspicion. Why do they keep asking us to give them our credit card to put a hold on the card?? That is so wrong.

Anyway, we went home and did a research. You know what? The most expensive Queen mattress from
Stearns & Foster Mattress Co. is only $2299 something. We don't remember the exact model that we were looking at there, but it's much less than the price they offered.

They are dishonest people period.

We bought a mattress from Sit 'n Sleep in 2004 from store in Tarzana. The mattress came with a 10 year warranty. After five years the mattress developed a ditch which was more than 2 inches. The store send an inspector to verify our complaint. The gentleman took pictures of the matters and provided in the pictures that the mattress was totally damaged. He also added that the mattress has no stain on it. Within a week we received a letter from the store for a credit of approximately $800 for the mattress as the box spring was not damaged. We went to same store to use our credit and picked a new mattress.

At first the manager of the store told us that we MUST buy the box spring. We explained that the box spring is perfect and there is no need to replace it. Then she stated that if we do not purchase a box spring then we do not have warranty on the mattress. We decided to buy the mattress without warranty. Due to a death in the family I had to go to New York for funeral. I went to the store and made sure that the delay will not affect our store credit. Was assured by a different sales person that the credit is valid for six months.

Upon my return in a week we ordered our new mattress. Today was the delivery date. The truck parked. A gentleman came to check the mattress and saw a stain on the mattress. For the life of me I still do not see ANY stain, like the first person who came almost four weeks ago and did not see any stain. (our mattress cover is very thick with a very thick foam!)

The gentleman suggested that we can't use the store credit due to invisible stain and they will take additional money to deliver the mattress!!!!!!

I called customer service and they supported the gentleman's statement. I asked for additional inspection and asked why their first inspector did not see the spot. The answer was the spot happened during last few weeks.

Bottom line, they never intended the replace our mattress. We will purchase another mattress from different stores. After spending five days on the new mattress (one day stayed home for the first inspector, went to store two day to pick up a new mattress, one day for the delivery of the mattress and another additional day for the second inspection) they hoped that one would agree with them and pay the additional amount. This is not how a reputable merchant does business.

We are extremely disappointed by Sit'n Sleep and will never purchase anything from any of their stores.

I purchased a $3,700.00 bed from Sit N Sleep in Upland Ca. It was a Duke University study, Sleep to Live green series for people with bad back issues. It sucks!! They have come out to measure the bed, which is a joke, since they measure with a piece of string with no one laying on the bed. Mine is 11 months old and I roll into a hole in the middle, thereby sleeping on a slant all night. They said it's because I didn't rotate my mattress. I am a single 60 year old woman! I can't lift the damn thing and was told when purchased I would NOT have to rotate it at all!!
My back is worse than ever!! Don't buy from Sit and Sleep anywhere!!
