JOSEPH SMITH SAW AN ANGEL -- not Jesus --  IN THE FIRST VISION,  according to Brigham Young.
"But He did send His angel to this same obscure person, Joseph Smith jr. , who afterwards became a Prophet, Seer, and Revelator, and informed him that he should not join any of the religious sects of the day, for they were all wrong; that they were following the precepts of men instead of the Lord Jesus" (ibid, Vol.  2, p.  171).  Either Prophet Young was wrong, the LDS Church is wrong, or it was all a story.

Mormon prophet, Joseph Smith, preached that the MOON was inhabited by people about six feet tall, who dressed like Quakers and lived about 1,000 years.  Since he was wrong about the moon, who can trust him about the way to Heaven?  (The Young Woman's Journal, 1892, Vol. 3, pp. 263-264 and Journal of Oliver B.  Huntington, Vol. 3, p.  166, typed copy at Utah State Historical Society).  Who could prove him wrong?  Our astronauts were asked, "Did you see any Quakers up there? " The next "living prophet," Brigham Young, taught the moon and the SUN were inhabited, "No question of it!" (Journal of Dis. , 1880, p.  27 1). Hmm! - "prophets" ?

Joseph Smith prophesied, ". . . I prophesy in the name of the Lord God of Israel, unless the United States redress the wrongs committed upon -the -Saints 'in the state of Missouri and punish the crimes committed by her officers that in a few years the government will be utterly overthrown and wasted, and there will not be so much as a potsherd left . . . " (History of the Church, Vol.  2, p.  182. The date was Feb. , 1835,) Was he a true or false prophet?

Joseph Smith said on February 14, 1835, ". . .  go forth to prune the vineyard for the last time, or the coming of the lord, which was nigh even fifty-six years should wind up the scene" (History of the Church, Vol.  2, p.  182). "On the 14th of Feb.  1835, Joseph Smith uaid [said] that God had revealed to him that the coming of Christ would be within 56 years, which added to 1835 shows that before 1891 and the 14th of Feb.  the Savior of the world would make his appearance again upon the earth and the winding up scene take place" (Journal of Oliver Boardman Huntington, Vol.  2, pp.  128,129). Another false prophet!

The BOOK OF MORMON has false prophecy.  "And thus prophesied Joseph, saying: Behold, that seer will the Lord bless; and they that seek to destroy him shall be confounded. . . " (2 Nephi 3:14). Smith's enemies were not confounded as they successfully killed him on June 27, 1844 in Carthage, Illinois. Will you take the test Brigham Young recommended?  Take up the Bible, compare the religion of the Latter-day Saints with it, and see if it will stand the test! (Journal of Discourses, Vol.  16, p. 46, Brigham Young, May 18, 1873). What good advice!

Why did the Nauvoo House not stand forever and ever?  (Doc, & Cov 124:56-60). For prophetic problems, see Deut.  13:1-5; 18:20-22;  Jer.  23:16; 27:15; Zech 13:2-5.

"This is The Place"Brigham taught as a prophet that ADAM IS GOD.  "If we can pass Joseph and have him say, 'Here; you have been faithful, good boys; I hold the keys of this dispensation; I will let you pass;' then we shall be very glad to see the white locks of Father Adam. "

In contradiction Brigham said speaking to critics, "Some have grumbled because I believe our God to be so near to us as Father Adam. " (Journal of Discourses, Vol.  5, pp.  331-332; See also Adam God: Doctrine of Salvation or Damnation).  Are Brigham's doctrines simply outdated?  Was Adam God but then he changed? If the Prophet, Seer and Revelator was wrong, what about Mormonism's foundation?  How can anyone know when prophets are accurate? Will Mormonism of the next century abandon the word of modem LDS prophets?

Baptism for the dead is a second chance after death?  Alma 34:31; 2 Nephi 9:38; Mosiah 26:25-27. Truth! - Judgment follows death.  (Heb.  9:27).

Do Indians fail to turn white when they become Mormons?  (2 Nephi 30:6 before 1981 change).  Missionaries claim:  "Changes never effect doctrine".

MANY key changes include the hiding of Jesus' deity: "Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of the Son of God. . .  " I Nephi I I -.  I 9.  The 1830 ed.  says, "Behold, the virgin which thou seest, is the mother of God. . . " (p.  25). Jesus is God! Book of Mormon, Mosiah 13:34-35; 15:1-5. Bible, John 20:28-29.

This information has been gathered from various sources on the internet -- It's plagiarized.

Much of it is 'proof', from a Christian perspective, that Mormonism is wrong.  It is very esoteric -- intended for, or understood by only a particular group. Mormonism is no doubt wrong (I doubt that it will turn out to be the Planet Kolob, after all!), . . . but the assumption of Christianity that a trinity exists, shows no validity either.

Be that as it may, here is the Christian True Believers'  gripe with Mormonism.   My findings tell me that much of the problems of Mormonism detailed here are factual.  ~~ Translated-correctly. com
